An Ocean Between US: Deep Diving into the Unconscious World

An Ocean of Thoughts

Our minds are constantly thinking and churning out thought after thought after thought. They are like the waves on the ocean-going from the forefront of our conscious mind to the back of our subconscious. Constantly in motion, they move like the beating of our hearts and the breath in our bodies.

Thought 1 – Is life an illusion?

The book ‘A Course In Miracles’ tells us that we live in an illusion made up by the ego mind. It states;

‘Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God.’

I have heard many say we are living in a simulation and this makes a lot of sense. The world seems to go round and round in loops and circles. We are born, we age and then we die. We experience life, learn lessons from our relationships and store this in our memory which is out in the ethos somewhere for us to pull in when we are reminded of a similar smell, taste, sound, touch or visual representation from our past.

Our bodies are constantly transitioning here, making you wonder if any of it is real. We are energetic and moving through some kind of portal toward a transition which we call death but no one knows what lies beyond that label.

Is this just one big Truman Show and the end point is when we wake up and remember the truth, that it’s all just been one big ride as Bill Hicks described it. The fears we run from are the illusions and the love we avoid holds the answer to all our unnecessary suffering.

It’s oh so real though, we feel things, and we see things with our eyes so how can it be just one big dream? We have dreams and we awaken but are we as the movie ‘Inception’ shows, a dream within a dream?

Thought 2 – Who Am I?

Image by Franz Bachinger from Pixabay

Yes, I have a name, given at birth, I grew up in a family and slowly was taught how to adapt to the ways of this world. However, after all this training and programming, this reality I find myself in does not make sense to me. Why are we the only living beings on this planet who have to pay to survive? Who created money and this system of work? You can take it back to history and come up with many answers but how do we know this is true? Does anyone question this dogma? ‘Well there is evidence,’ many will say but to quote Dr Wayne Dyer who said;

“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

He was telling us that what we observe changes given the way we observe it. Quantum Physics shows us waveforms changing when observed. Look up the double-slit experiment for evidence of this and you will see that we are creating this world.

Therefore, who am I if not this body? I can observe my thoughts. Who is the observer? I know there are lots of theories on this matter but again they are theories and I believe the answer is hidden within us. We know who we are, we have just forgotten. The memory seems to be up in the clouds, out of our reach and so we stay here on this planet until we remember or die aka awaken from the dream.

I don’t believe the answer will be a thought form either. All that we see here will disappear and energy will take its place as we float out of the body and spread out into the omnipresent universe. Just like the waves of the ocean, we come into form and leave formless.

Thought 3 – Imagination Is A Dance

When we go into the dreamlike world of imagination we explore all possibilities in thought forms and internal imagery. We can create anything the mind can conceive and maybe more if we open our minds wide enough.

The amazing thing is, if the feelings that come from imagination are harnessed many show that the images can start taking physical form in our reality.

Abraham Hicks is a big advocate of the ‘Law of Attraction’ and many follow their teachings. They are a group of consciousness that has come into the body of Esther Hicks who channels and communicates with attendees in a way to assist in bringing them to a place of manifesting their desires. This may be too far out for some to grasp but lots of individuals believe and have shared some amazing experiences following their teachings.

I remain open-minded and have some experiences in my own life that would validate their work. I do believe something is guiding us all and if we tap into this source we can attract great things into our everyday lives.

Our imagination is a dance between the dream world and the living world as we know it. We can cross over into both within our minds, so why can’t we bring forth those ideas and images from one world into the other? It seems that feelings hold the key because if they are held long enough, they somehow align and begin to take shape in our physical reality.

Thought 4 – Pain Reveals Light

It has been noted that sometimes in my darkest moments, I have created the best art. There is something to be said about how pain can lead us toward the light. Those who have hit rock bottom often talk about it being the moment they decided to change and when a turning point toward the light emerged.

Why do things have to get so bad for us to see the diamond that resides within? I am not saying that we see it in that moment of blackness, not consciously, but on a deep level, we find a spark that ignites creativity which moves us in a new direction of thought and action.

Pain often makes us stand still and become very present. The mind reaches a crescendo and light finds a way in. We then follow that light and new things start to emerge. It might not be physical initially, it just might be a quick flash of inspiration or a little glimmer of hope but it entices us enough to move us out of our pit of blackness.

It is comforting to know that something light is always present and will find a way to reach us, especially in those times of great challenge and adversity.

Thought 5 – The Finale

I will end my musings here and leave you with this final thought. Although the world feels and looks very solid there is a world we can enter which is very etheric. It is a layer where our imagination resides, our light is found and where our body does not exist.

Who we are in this other realm is expansive and omnipresent because it can travel far into the ethos of what we call the mind. However, the mind is not the powerhouse, it is the heart, this is where memory resides and feelings percolate.

When you want to broaden your horizons put your hand on your heart, close your eyes and let your amazing imagination run wild and free. Let it dance with the light and bring you home to peace and joy, the place of your innate inheritance.
